“For it is in giving that we receive,” said St. Francis of Assisi. Words that ring true at The Esquiline.
Residents and staff are always quick to step in with any volunteer initiative or project, whether that is helping out on the grounds here at The Esquiline, donating for a local food pantry or working with local children through a community service project. In fact, 75% of our independent living residents volunteered their time and service in 2015.
That is something we are very proud of. Not only are our residents and staff shaping the communities where they live, they are sharing their talents and knowledge, meeting new people and gaining new experiences in life. Research shows volunteering is good for whole-person wellness as it can be emotionally fulfilling, can help keep your body active and can also stimulate the mind.
Over $1 Million Donated in 2015
The Esquiline is also very proud of the generosity we have received from our many supporters. In 2015, our community benefited from more than $1 million in private gift support to help forward our mission.
The funds are being used toward the library; to grow the Development Fund Endowment that provides care for residents who outlive their financial resources; to support new devices, equipment and programming for the chapel and Dammert Care Center; and more.
