How The Esquiline Helps Your Parent Grow in Faith

grow in faith

Faith has always been the foundation of your parent’s life. An avid churchgoer, they’ve always led by example. Giving to others has been a fundamental part of their life and belief system.

However, age is making it more difficult to fulfill their religious responsibilities. Bad weather, illness, and lack of transportation may contribute to your parent’s difficulty in participating.

Are you looking for a faith-based continuing care retirement community? Look no further!

The Esquiline offers your parent the opportunity to safely grow in their faith and make their contribution to God’s plan.

History of The Esquiline

The Esquiline, the nation’s only retirement community located on the grounds of a national Catholic shrine, is designed to encourage the spiritual growth of residents. Founded by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, the community first served supporters of the mission.

The nearby National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows offers spiritual programs, conferences, and workshops open to all.

As much a ministry as a continuing care community” is one description of The Esquiline. Residents have the opportunity to become involved in the outreach work of the Oblates as they help the poor.

Building Faith at The Esquiline

The atmosphere on the grounds of the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows encourages spiritual commitment, and The Esquiline offers opportunities to do so as well. They include:

  • Daily Mass
  • Weekly Benediction
  • 24/7 Chapel Availability
  • Reconciliation Twice Weekly
  • Anointing of the Sick Quarterly
  • Protestant Worship Weekly
  • Ecumenical Bible Study
  • Weekly Faith Formation Classes
  • Liturgical Ministries
  • Pastoral Counseling
  • Morning Prayer in the Garden
  • Taizé Prayer

Your parent may participate as much or as little as they want. No matter where they go, their life experience, perspective, and gifts will be appreciated.

You and your family are also welcome to participate in the mission of the Oblates to tend to the poor through volunteering at the church, helping with a food collection or helping maintain the grounds.

The Esquiline shares its 200-acre campus with the shrine, and those seeking to connect with God through nature are invited to follow the walking paths to numerous devotional sites on the property.

The Esquiline Is Not Just for Catholics

Although our origins are Catholic, we invite all faiths to join us. We believe in honoring the unique spirit of each resident and promoting their physical, social, intellectual and spiritual wellness.
